Some of the manners of reading Qur’an:
- Performing Wudu.
- Use the Siwak before reading.
- It is preferable to face the Qiblah before reading because it is the most honorable direction.
- Seeking Istiadha from accursed Shaitan.
- Beginning with the Basmalah.
- Tarteel of recitation.
- Making Dua after reciting Aya’s of mercy.
- Seeking refuge in Allah at the Aya’s of torment.
- Maintain humility and serenity when reciting.
- Contemplate the verses and understand their meanings.
- Follow the rules of Tajweed during recitation.
- Trusting Allah’s command and following His prohibitions.
- Pray to Allah to give you the best understanding of religion and teach you the meaning.
- Apply the knowledge in your life.
- Asking Allah for success and help in preservation.
- Be careful to avoid sins, big and small.
Al-Shafi’i, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
I complained to Wakia about my bad memory, so he guided me to abandon sins
He said, “Know that knowledge is light, and the light of Allah is not given to a sinner.”
- Recalling the greatness of Allah Subhanhu Watala.
- Recall that this Qur’an is from Allah to His worshipers.
