Google API Services & Calendar User Data Policy
Kalemat Quran Academy (“Kalemat Academy”) integrates with Google Calendar via OAuth 2.0 to provide automated scheduling, class synchronization, and appointment conflict detection for teachers and students.
1. Google User Data Accessed
When an instructor or administrator connects their Google Calendar, our application requests the following scopes:
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events: Used to create, view, update, and remove calendar events strictly corresponding to booked academy lessons.
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly: Used to read busy/free schedule blocks to automatically prevent double-booking and schedule overlaps.
We only access event start/end timestamps, event titles, and availability status. We do not access, read, or process personal emails, contacts, files, or any other Google account data.
2. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Google User Data
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do NOT sell, trade, rent, transfer, or disclose Google user data (including calendar events or account details) to any third parties, external advertisers, marketing platforms, or data brokers.
- No Advertising: Google user data is never used to serve targeted advertisements or retargeting campaigns.
- No AI/ML Training: Google user data is never used to train, retrain, or improve generalized machine learning (ML) or artificial intelligence (AI) models.
- Strict Internal Purpose: Google user data is processed solely by our secure application servers to deliver the user-requested appointment booking and calendar synchronization services.
3. Data Protection Mechanisms for Sensitive Data
We implement strict technical and organizational safeguards to ensure your Google credentials and calendar data remain private and secure:
- Encryption in Transit: All communications between client browsers, our application servers, and Google APIs are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 / TLS 1.3) over HTTPS.
- Encryption at Rest: All Google OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are stored encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption within isolated database storage.
- Access Control: Database Row-Level Security (RLS) policies and least-privilege service roles ensure that only the authenticated user owning the connection can access or trigger operations on their calendar.
4. Retention and Deletion of Google User Data
- Retention: Google user data and OAuth tokens are retained only as long as the user maintains an active connection to Google Calendar within their Kalemat Academy account.
- One-Click In-App Deletion: Users can disconnect their Google Calendar at any time by clicking “Disconnect Google Calendar” in their calendar settings. Disconnecting immediately and permanently purges all stored OAuth access tokens, refresh tokens, and calendar synchronization records from our database.
- Google Account Revocation: Users can revoke Kalemat Academy’s access at any time via the Google Security permissions dashboard at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Data Deletion Requests: Users may also request complete deletion of their account data by emailing [email protected]. Requests are fulfilled within 30 days.
5. Google Workspace API User Data & Limited Use Compliance
Kalemat Quran Academy does not transfer, share, or expose Google user data (raw, aggregated, or derived) to any third-party AI/ML models, foundational model providers, model hubs, or automated training systems.
Affirmative Limited Use Statement: “The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Kalemat Quran Academy strictly complies with the Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy, ensuring Google user data is never used to create, train, or improve foundational or generalized machine learning or artificial intelligence models.”
